All About Me
Licensed in massage therapy since 2017
Certified as a birth doula since 2022
I've always been interested in prenatal care and as I pursued certifications in massage therapy, I also discovered the joys of doula work. After becoming a mother myself (characterized by a difficult pregnancy, precipitous labor, and a challenging recovery process), I felt even more drawn to assisting women in such a precious, life-affirming, and demanding experience.

I'm located in Troy, OH, loving life as a wife and mother (and cat-mom!), dedicated to helping you love yours!
My Services
What I Offer
Prenatal Support

We will use our prenatal appointments to discuss the birth plan, create an exercise routine, prepare the birthing space or nursery, process previous birth-related traumas, work through your fears or anxieties, form a friendship, and manifest your best birth experience.
Labor Support

Advocating for your rights and decisions, translating medical jargon, providing natural pain management (including essential oils, massage, and the use of a TENS unit), offering support ranging from gentle encouragement to direct coaching, and picking up food or coffee, directing family to your room, or any other errands you need accomplished.
Postpartum Support

We will use our postpartum visits to process your birth experience with you, offer advice or information on newborn care, provide light housekeeping or drop off a meal, hold the baby to give you an hour off, and lend a listening ear so you can voice feelings of PPD/PPA, the hardships of caring for a newborn, or any other of the un-fun feelings that come out during this fragile time.
Fill out an interest form and I will reach out to you within three business days!
I started looking for a doula to support me in a more natural pregnancy and birth than my previous one. Jess had ALL the tools and information I could've asked for and more. She's a great listener, and really the friend every woman needs during pregnancy!

Why a doula?
A birth doula is defined by DONA International as "a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible."
The role of a birth doula is to provide non-medicalized support to a woman and her family during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Having gone through pregnancy myself, I was astounded by how much information is out there that is never touched on by mainstream obstetric care! While a doula is no replacement for your OB-GYN, your pregnancy can be greatly enhanced by including a birth doula in your care team.

The standard medical model of care views childbirth as an event with many potential dangers. At any given point in time, your nurses are prepared to respond to complications or emergencies. It is, of course, preferrable to have a safety net when it comes to the health of you and your newborn; however, standard hospital care is simply not equipped to ensure you receive a personalized, naturally-minded, emotionally satisfying experience.
